A lead is someone interested in what you have to offer and who gives you their contact info.
A customer is someone who buys something from you.
A client is someone you spend your personal time and energy to help, either in 1:1 or group.
Over the last 3.5 years…
I’ve generated 10,000+ customers online and worked with 1000+ clients for my own offers.
I’ve helped clients generate thousands of their own customers and clients.
The easiest way to get a client is to make them a customer first.
Sell them something. Anything.
Then once they buy, it’s so much easier to get them to buy again.
(Assuming your stuff is good, of course.)
The easiest way to get a lead is to give them something useful for free first.
This could be a piece of content that helps them get something they want, related to what you offer.
I like to write tactical marketing and sales guides using Google Docs, like this:
Then I turn them into mini books and run ads to them to grow my email list, like this:
If someone finds your stuff useful, they’ll be far more likely to pay attention and buy from you.
Last month…
964 people joined my email list
161 people bought something from me
12 people became new clients
Every day I’m putting out useful content.
Every day I make an offer to buy something from me.
Every day I invite the people who are ready to make moves to work with me directly.
And every day I invite happy customers to continue working with me.
This is how you get paid every day.
Setting up this system, funnel, machine… whatever you wanna call it… is what we’ll be talking about here on the Substack.
The Email Rainmaker Ecosystem post is a solid starting point in case you missed it.
